Versafire Guitars is a one-man shop in Downtown Ypsilanti, Michigan. I play, I love guitars, and I treat every instrument on the bench like it’s my own.
THE STORY
FROM TOUR TECH TO FULL-TIME LUTHIER.
I started playing in bands in 1996. On tour, I was the guy that repaired the equipment on the road — which quickly turned into constant side work for other bands while I held down a full-time job.
When Covid hit, my job position was discontinued. That was the push I needed to go all-in on instrument repair, running the shop full time out of my garage. It outgrew the garage fast, so I rented a shop in Downtown Ypsilanti — and that’s where I’m still working from today.
No cookie-cutter setups, no assembly-line turnarounds. I work around your schedule, walk you through the price up front, and go the extra mile to make sure your instrument plays and sounds exactly how you want.

Most repairs move quickly. Same-day for minor jobs when I can fit them in.

You get a straight quote up front. I never go over an estimate without calling first.

Most parts in stock. Specialty parts may add a couple of days for delivery.
